CORPORATE CULTURE

Gender-equitable participation and diversity open up an untapped treasure trove of artistic potential for companies in the culture and media industry and therefore represent a huge opportunity. By involving diverse people in the artistic creation process, stereotypical misrepresentations are prevented. With contemporary stories told from unusual angles, you also attract new audiences. In addition, a forward-looking corporate culture increases the appeal of your company or theater.

RISING GAZE advises executives in the film and theater industries on

  • Unconscious bias

  • Gender equity, diversity and inclusion in the company - in front of and behind the camera, on and off stage

  • Compatibility of family and career for film and theater professionals

  • Awareness concepts

  • Anti-discriminatory & inclusive production

  • Accessibility in companies, on websites and in theater / film

Addressing issues such as abuse of power and discrimination is also of great importance to executives today. Sexual assault, racism and ableist attitudes are still widespread in both the film and theater industries. [5] .

RISING GAZE advises on

  • Prevention of sexism and abuse of power

  • Preventing racism, antiziganism [6], classism, ableism, homophobia & queerphobia

  • Dealing with complaints and duty of care

[5] In the study "Diversity in Film", 81% of cis women stated that they had experienced sexual harassment at work on several occasions. The survey of the Swiss Association of Stage Artists (SBKV) comes to a similar conclusion: Here, 80% of all participants stated that they had experienced at least one sexual assault in the last two years of employment - 69% of the victims were women. In addition, a quarter of respondents in the "Diversity in Film" study said they had been affected by discrimination in the workplace. Gender, age and racial attributions were cited as the most common forms of discrimination. More on the "Diversity in Film" study here.

[6] The term antiziganism is sometimes discussed controversially. However, since it is recommended by the Central Council of German Sinti and Roma, we use it. More here: https://zentralrat.sintiundroma.de/romani-rose-zum-begriff-antiziganismus/
